From muscles to networks

The replacement of population (the reproduction of human muscles) as the main weapon of mass destruction started with gunpowder and culminated with the atomic bomb.  Population has been rediscovered as the reproduction of human networks, and is used as a cyber weapon, democracy being the new war theatre.  What will be the equivalent of the atomic bomb for networks? The answer is somewhere between AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Mass Media.  The latter translates AI capability into votes, by implanting political bias in humans.
